Commemorative Creations
Every so often, companies produce product lines to commemorate an event, a club and even holidays. Lionel was known to include all three with their Bicentennial Set in 1976, special cars and sets for the TCA (Train Collectors Association) and LCCA (Lionel Collectors Club of America) and, of course, holidays - especially Christmas.
This No. 6-51012 Christmas Tinplate Set was created by Lionel in 2008 with a Pre-War style No. 261 Locomotive, No. 654 Tank Car, No. 659 Dump Car and No. 601 Observation Car. Modern add-ons included TrainSounds with chuffing, bell and whistle.
