When Reproduction Goes Off the Rails
Hudson Products produced a highly detailed replica of the Pre-War Lionel 700E Hudson with Tender and Display Board from 1979 until 1980. The company was based in Attleboro, Massachusetts.
For the Fall 1979 TCA Eastern Division Train Meet in York, Pennsylvania, the company went one step beyond and attempted to sell a limited run of EMD F3 Diesel Sets they produced without permission from Lionel/MPC. This forced an apology and a company name change which didn't prevent the firm from going out of business in 1980.
