Use the Right Terminology to Describe Age

Just because something is old, it's not necessarily an antique. That's an important distinction because incorrectly classifying an antique makes you appear uninformed to potential buyers. They'll wonder what else you don't know about what you're trying to sell.

An antique is at least 100 years old. Newer items can be called vintage or identified by a design characteristic like Art Deco. You could also reference an era such as the Golden Age of Comic Books (1938 to 1956).

The American Flyer passenger cars pictured in this post were produced during the mid-1930s. You could accurately describe them as old, vintage or more appropriately Wide Gauge.
